| 0:00.0 | All right, ready? |
| 0:04.0 | Three, two. |
| 0:06.0 | All right, E.J. Let's talk a little bit about Howie Roseman's approach to tight ends in the draft because I think we expect that the Eagles are going to add at least one tight end in the draft this year. |
| 0:17.0 | Dallas Goddard is back, but on a one-year deal. |
| 0:20.0 | Grant Galkatera, Johnny Munt. Nobody signed through next season. I think it would make sense for the Eagles to add a tight end. What do you know about like the way that he's approached this position in the past? Yeah, so he hasn't drafted a ton of tight ends over his tenure. I think that's actually the biggest takeaway. Yeah, right? They just haven't. Why? Well, I think it speaks to them. Part of it is because they had |
| 0:39.9 | Brentillic. Right. Yeah, right? They just haven't. Why? Well, I think it speaks to them. |
| 0:38.6 | Part of it is because they had Brent Selle. |
| 0:40.5 | Right. |
| 0:40.5 | But they've had guys who had been around. They had nailed their starter picks. Yeah. And then filled the room with veterans. But he just hasn't taken a lot of shots at the position. Yeah, I think it speaks to like when you look at the shots that they have taken, they've hit. |
| 0:53.2 | It's Zach Ertz and Dallas Gotter as the two, the two prevailing ones there. |
| 0:56.9 | And then Grant Calcutera as somebody who provided depth behind Dallas Goddard. Clay Harbor erasure here. I mean, it's a fourth round pick, man. Yeah, I was getting to him. I was trying to go in order of significance. Would you say Clay Harbors is more significant than Grant Calcuttaire? Well, certainly pop culture-wise. |
| 1:14.5 | Well, yes, as yes, he was on The Bachelor. He didn't really have a lot of juice on The Bachelor from being honest here. That doesn't surprise me, but I didn't watch the season. Yeah. I would watch now I would watch Grant Calcuterara on The Bachelor. Oh, yeah. |
| 1:27.6 | He'd have more juice on The Bachelor. |
| 1:28.7 | Of those four tight ends, who would you most want to watch on The Bachelor? Probably Grant. I agree. Yeah. I think he'd be dynamic. Yeah, I think Grant's the answer. Yeah. All right, that'll do it for the future of my Eagles podcast. So I wouldn't say that there's like a through line with those guys where it's like, you know, elite testers or highly productive in college. Harbor was, the thing was the elite testing. Yeah. You know, not even a ton of production from a very small school tested awesome. Ertz, it was production and it didn't test very well. Dallas Goddard, smaller school, tested well, but was more about just like this is a true overall tight end. And Grant tested okay. Tested okay. Yeah. Yeah. But had receiving upside. But I think Hallie Roseman has given us a window into what he might be looking for in the draft. If we believe him. If we believe him. What did he say? He said before the scouting combine, the tight end position starts with me evolving. From my perspective, I've always had an affinity for the receiving tight ends. I think that's shown in my work. As you evolve as a GM and as an evaluator, you watch what's out there. You've got to be cognizant about the fact that on some levels, the game has changed. There's room for both of those spots. When you look at our room this year, last season, probably needed a more diverse skill set at that position. Now, he said that. And then they signed Johnny Munt. And then they signed Johnny Munt as a token before bringing back around Calcutera, bringing back Dallas Goddard, |
| 2:51.2 | and signing Stone Smart, |
| 2:52.4 | all guys who are like exactly the same thing. |
| 2:56.9 | Now you can read that one of two ways. |
| 2:58.5 | Maybe they will add a two-way combo titan in the draft |
| 3:01.6 | and that will be them addressing it further. |
| 3:03.5 | Or maybe High Rosen is going back to his old ways. |
| 3:06.0 | Now, I don't think that how he's wrong about this necessarily. I do think that if you're using resources, I do think that the harder thing to find is a difference maker as a receiver. I know that it's, you know, it's sexier and it's not as football it's not as football guy. But I think I agree with |
| 3:24.2 | having it. Like, as I'm watching the tight ends, those are the guys that I'm drawn to as well. But I think you just like, you just need a guy who can check a box and stay on the field as a blocker. Yeah, from a, I think you'll add somebody who can do that for Johnny Montt. From like a value upside perspective. I see where you're coming from, but I think from like you need to be |
