I'm Connor Beaton, the host and founder of Man Talks.

And on this midweek mini episode, we are going to dive into how we can find more meaning

in our life.

And this conversation, this mini episode came out of a conversation, I mean, a conversation

that I've had with a lot of people over the past few months, but specifically with one gentleman that I had a conversation with at a

conference that I had spoken at. And I had given a presentation about purpose. And he came out to me

after and he was telling me about some of the struggles that he was facing. And he basically told me,

you know, I'm working this what would seem like a

great job. I'm making really good money on my salary. I have a side hustle. And he said, you know,

but I still don't feel happy. I still don't feel connected. And I still don't feel like my life or my

work has any form of purpose in it. And after chatting with him, it became really

clear to me what one of the issues was. And this is something that I have seen as almost like

an epidemic in so many people's lives. So finally, there was a pause in the conversation.

And I thought about how I wanted to phrase the question.

And finally, I said, you know what?

I have one question for you.

And that question is, do you feel like the responsibility that you're carrying in your life and in your work even matters?

And he kind of sat there and he gave me this look like what the hell is this guy talking

about. And he seemed a little confused. And after a few seconds, I could see the facial expression

completely changed. And finally, he looked at me and said, no, no, I don't feel like any of the things that I'm carrying around, any of the responsibilities

I'm carrying actually matter. And, you know, he started to become emotional and, and break down
