Welcome guys and gals to the man talk show. I'm Connor Bieden and today we're going to talk about the

0:05.4

importance of initiation rights and what parts of initiation are important, what the benefits are

0:13.3

and how you might be able to go about creating one. So what are initiations and why do men need them? So initiations are meant to do a few things

0:26.1

for men or boys that are meant to pull them into a more deeply connected, present, grounded

It can lead to a massive amount of anxieties or depressions,

1:31.9

all because he's acting in a way that he doesn't believe that there's consequences.

1:37.0

Really, one of the big pieces that helps teach us about mortality

1:42.5

is the realization that there are some consequences that have irreversible

1:49.4

outcomes, that we can do things in life that are, that are sort of finite, and that teach us a

1:57.8

lesson that we can never come back from. And that's an incredibly, incredibly important thing that a man needs to learn.

2:04.5

Because when he comes face to face with death or mortality, he comes face to face with the unknown.

2:09.5
