| 0:00.0 | Welcome, guys and gals to the Man Talks podcast. I am Connor Veeton, the host and founder of Man Talks. |
| 0:06.2 | And today on this week's midweek mini episode, which I kind of feel is like a tongue twister, |
| 0:11.4 | you know, like Peter Pecker peck to, I don't know how it goes actually. I actually have no idea |
| 0:16.6 | how that goes. But it feels like a ton twister, midweek mini episode, if you say that five times |
| 0:21.4 | fast. We're going to talk about letting it go, how to let things go. And I'm going to be using |
| 0:29.3 | the example of a relationship. I recently had somebody reach out to me through Instagram and say, |
| 0:34.4 | hey, listen, man, love the podcast. I've been tuning in for a few months now, and I've basically, like, consumed all the episodes. And, uh, you know, a few of the things that really hit home with me and really helped me. And, and I would love for you to do an episode on letting go recently. I was in an almost a year-long relationship. And it seemed to be going really, really well. I thought the relationship was going well. |
| 0:59.4 | You know, I thought I was a great partner. And out of seemingly nowhere, out of, out of the blue, |
| 1:05.5 | according to this person, the relationship ended for no good reason. And he was left trying to figure out what actually happened. And I thought, what a relatable story. Because unless you, A, live under a rock or B, |
| 1:13.5 | are some sort of like a magical unicorn that has never, has never experienced a relationship or a |
| 1:20.7 | circumstance where you think it's going in one direction and all of a sudden it completely |
| 1:24.4 | takes a left turn. We have all experienced this. |
| 1:27.6 | And what we can be left with is the challenge of not knowing how to actually move on. |
| 1:33.4 | Because what ends up happening is that our brain gets stuck in problem solving mode. |
| 1:39.8 | And the problem that's trying to solve is why did that person leave or why did that business fail |
| 1:44.6 | or why didn't I get that promotion or fill in the blank for whatever you're stuck on and can't |
| 1:50.0 | seem to let go of. So this is really the question that we get fixated on and our brain starts to |
| 1:56.4 | try and figure out the problem. It starts to bring up all of these potential solutions. |
| 2:01.4 | It's like maybe they were sleeping with somebody else. |
| 2:03.6 | Maybe they like ran away on the blah, blah, blah, blah. |
| 2:06.3 | Maybe, you know, maybe they like won the lottery and they don't want me to know |
| 2:11.5 | and they're taking off to Bali or like maybe the relationship wasn't as good as I thought it was. |
