Welcome, guys and gals to the Man Talks podcast. I'm Connor Beaton, the host and founder of Man Talks.

This week on our midweek mini episode, we are going to dive into mindset. And we're going to do this

But I posted a little poll asking people, should I talk about mindset or purpose?

And it was really close.

And so I'll probably do a little talk on purpose in the next one.

But this one's going to be all about mindset.

So mindset won out 52% to 48.

So I'm going to dive into that really quick.

The reason why I think this is so important.

And for all the guys that are out there, look, your mind is really, we've been taught

that our mind is really this space that is holds the keys to our freedom, to our liberation.

And yet for so many men, our minds have become the cage that we have wanted to avoid, the cage that we have wanted to get out of, the cage that we have

never wanted to be put in in the first place. And so, men, my my call to you is, is really this.

We have an obligation to our families, to our friends, to ourselves, to the world, really,

to understand our mindset. friends, to ourselves, to the world, really, to understand our mindset.

And if you don't know much about mindset, I'm going to talk a little bit today about Carol Dweck's work. She wrote a book called Mindset, and she talks about, she's a psychologist,

she talks about fixed versus growth mindset. But I want you to even think about the word mindset in

itself. It sort of presupposes or plants the seed in your head that your mind should be set or

fixed in one specific way and that's not actually true. So even just the word mindset is like, oh, I should have my

mindset to a healthy, positive space. I should just have my mindset to like good thoughts,
