Summary

Ah yes, accountability. The thing we all want to have and loath to see personal development gurus who seem to have. Here’s the deal - accountability is something YOU have to do. Its an essential life skill. You can only outsource, delegate, and offload so much to the people around you… eventually, you will have to be accountable for the things in your life. Some people might pay for other people to hold you accountable, but this episode (and the work I do) is meant to teach you HOW to be accountable. All of the work I do is meant to teach you how to be more self-led, and thats what this episode is really about. Don't forget to follow along on Instagram for more videos and content like this. Welcome. I'm Connor Beaton and today we're going to be talking about accountability.

Now recently, over the last, I guess not recently, but over the last several years of

0:11.1

working with men and women and specifically working with men, I've noticed a pattern that when

0:16.9

an individual, men or woman, this isn't necessarily male exclusive, when an individual is

0:22.3

wanting to expand and grow in their life, whether they are wanting to grow financially,

0:28.8

whether they are wanting to grow professionally or whether they're wanting to adjust their habits,

0:34.9

you know, wake up earlier and go to the gym, eat healthier, lose some weight,

0:40.1

be able to save more, pay off debt, be able to do the things that they know that they should

0:47.2

or need to be doing within their business or within their profession. People seem to try

0:53.0

and offload their accountability. And the first thing that I see

0:57.3

people do, their natural knee-jerk response is to outsource their accountability. And so they'll say,

1:07.3

okay, I have failed at this. I have failed to wake up at 6 a.m. and go to the gym.

1:13.4

I've failed to put money away every paycheck.

1:17.0

I've failed to, you know, whatever it is, lose the five pounds or whatever.

1:22.8

Fill in the blank for yourself.

1:25.2

And the natural response to that is, well, it must be because I need someone

1:30.2

to help me become accountable. And there are literally coaches out there who are accountability

1:38.5

coaches. And all that they do is they hold you accountable to what you say you are going to do. Now, this is a problem.

1:48.7

All right. Imagine that you are a 30-year-old man and your body is not producing as much

1:56.2

testosterone as it used to simply because you are eating unhealthy, you are not mobile at all. You sit around all day

2:06.9

long at work and then you go home and you sit on the couch and you watch Netflix and you eat

2:11.6

crappy food and it's having an impact on your health. So you're starting to gain more weight. You have
