| 0:00.0 | Hello everybody, it's Kate and Dory here. Hello. We're coming in to record a kind of |
| 0:07.5 | last minute emergency introduction to this episode. Because as you will hear on this episode, |
| 0:15.0 | we've decided to take the month of July off and so we have been frantically pre-recording a lot of |
| 0:21.4 | content way ahead of schedule, which has been very nice for us. We're very excited to get some time off. |
| 0:26.8 | But came at a really not great time in the wake of the Supreme Court overturning Rovers' weight. |
| 0:38.3 | Because it's something we want to talk about and we didn't get to it yet on the subject. |
| 0:41.3 | Yeah, so we will address it that will not be done in depth today, but we just didn't want people |
| 0:48.9 | to think that we were sort of nonchalantly going about our business as though we were not aware of or |
| 0:56.7 | didn't somehow didn't care about what had happened. So that is not the case. That's why we're |
| 1:02.4 | recording this little intro to let you guys know that. I also just want to say, you know, |
| 1:08.3 | one of the things that we've been talking about is the importance of elections at the state |
| 1:14.0 | and local levels. And there was an article in the New York Times today about how like |
| 1:22.1 | about everything that we've been talking about, about how the Democrats have neglected |
| 1:26.4 | state elections because they've been focusing on things at the national level. |
| 1:31.0 | And now all of these state legislatures in various states are passing very restrictive |
| 1:37.9 | anti-abortion laws. All that to say, we have a giving circle with the states project where we are |
| 1:45.1 | going to be supporting elections at the state level. We would love to get you to contribute to that. |
| 1:54.6 | Our goal is $20,000. We are almost there. If we reach it, we'll set a new goal. |
| 2:01.7 | And we will be choosing our the battleground state that we're going to be focusing on. We're |
| 2:07.2 | going to be choosing that in the in the coming weeks. So stay tuned for that. And yeah, much more |
| 2:14.8 | on this to come. And Doria, I also just wanted to encourage people to either go back and listen |
| 2:20.9 | to again or listen to for the first time episode that we did recently in May. Episode 219, it's |
