Today's mini edit is about September micro delights.

The first one is a recipe.

I know I have talked about King Arthur baking before.

I love their recipes and their chocolate zucchini cake is my latest favorite.

This recipe is pretty much the opposite of the kale brownies I tried to make once,

where everyone took a few tepid, polite bites, and then the brownies sat around for a really

long time.

I made this cake for my mom's birthday.

Notably, Koreans are not into traditional sweets, and so I decided to make a cake that was light on frosting and also had

vegetables in it. This cake is perfection. Not overly sweet. It has a lovely richness and depth

because of the espresso powder, I think. And the

frosting on top, if you choose to use it, adds a little sweet, but not overly so, because it's basically

just a ganache of semi-sweet chocolate chips and half and half. It's also fast to make. It just

uses a 9 by 13 pan, so no layers to fuss with. And for my mom's

birthday, I added sprinkles just to make it a little festive. And the big thing was she asked to

take some home, which is a pretty significant sign of how good this cake is. I recently made another batch thanks to a family
