Today's mini is about July microdelights, and this is a really fun collection.

My first pick is a lavender and mint brew that I have just been delighting in.

Now, I have to say that I've spent my entire life

carrying a negative impression of lavender as being overly perfumy, given what I've experienced

with different soaps, skincare, et cetera, and I apologize. In fact, I wrote an essay on Substac

And it's just a really sweet backstory.

Anyway, the lavender and mint brew is one tablespoon of fresh English lavender and three

tablespoons or more of fresh mint from my backyard

to every one cup of water. So duplicate as many times as you'd like if you want to try this.

I just boil hot water. I pour it over the lavender and mint, let it steep for 15 minutes,

and then strain out all the lavender and mint. And it is delicious, warm or hot or over ice.

I make a big batch, and when it cools, I pour it into a large jar and leave it in the fridge.
