Today's mini-edit is about eight ways to prioritize community.

So this may sound a little weird, but after retiring my 16-year-old hyperlocal blog in

2022, I breathed a deep sigh of relief. Part of it was technical and related to my email overwhelm. I immediately

set up an auto response to free myself of the responsibility of reading and responding to the

hundreds of weekly pitches I received for product or business coverage, event attendance, and

partnerships. And part of it was relief that I didn't need to be in the know about everything Massachusetts related

anymore, given that event roundups, non-profit features, and independent business spotlights

were key elements of the site.
