Summary

Feeling insecure, struggling with self-esteem, and being unsure of whether you’re good enough are all common issues that can arise in your lifetime. It doesn’t make you broken, it just makes you human. But working hard to cut off the parts of yourself that you don’t like isn’t the best way to go about building up your self-esteem and certainly flies in the face of self-acceptance. Embracing those elements of yourself that you wish were different is a more effective tactic and, in the end, leaves you feeling more confident and whole.

LESSONS:
Wanting to avoid, ignore, or push away altogether the parts of yourself that you don’t like is a common, though ineffective tactic.
Try to embrace and accept the parts of yourself that you don’t like, rather than push them away.
Use a mantra to help yourself embrace who you are.
Integrate positive affirmations into your routine and begin to acknowledge how these parts of yourself actually make you unique and special.
