Few shows back Sonic Truth Podcast we had on air in shots from

football outsiders and we talked about Jimmy Garopolo and Schatz believes flatly that Jimmy

Garopolo is overrated. I asked him to say it again just to be clear for the

record Jimmy Garopolo is overrated and yes he is overrated based strictly on the probabilities because that's what

analytics is and Aaron Schott specializes in football analytics laying out

the probabilities that define the possibilities.

That's what we do with analytics in football.

And with football, it's more challenging than it is with basketball and baseball

because of our small sample sizes.

And I know what you're thinking. Well, of all the players in the NFL, we know with

definitive certainty that Jimmy Garopolo does not have a small sample size. And I would disagree with that sentiment. I would say of all the players in the NFL

We know with definitive certainty that Vernon Davis does not have a small sample size first and foremost

Then le Garrett blunt then Jimmy Gereunt, then Jimmy Garopolo. But always we start with

Vernon Davis when measuring sample size. And I generally agree with Aaron Schatz. It's too early to label Jimmy Garopolo as an elite quarterback.
