So I am here with my family and my parents eating meals and relaxing and the

conversations naturally turn to politics and I realize wow I haven't talked to anyone about politics in a long time.

I haven't thought about it in a long time.

I actually do not have well-formed opinions about these candidates.

Clearly my parents do, it's something they obsess over.

I do not.

I don't think I've ever brought up the name Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump on this

podcast and I don't plan to because I am a political many people treat politics like

sports they pick aside and then they become very strident in their opinions

they want one side to win just like they want their favorite sports team to win and when you

hear the supporters of political candidates talk and you hear

political pundits talk on television you could swap out some of the words and

they would sound exactly like sports analysts and sports fans.

When an election is imminent, it inspires the same visceral response

as if an important sports game were imminent.
