stinks at evaluating quarterbacks with all the numbers, this wealth of data that we have at

our disposal. We only have a handful of data points that are in any way

predictive. So often you see quarterbacks that were not efficient, that were not

productive, exceed at the NFL level. Think Carson Wents. Think Matt Ryan. Think Tom Brady. And then on the other end of the spectrum you have prolific quarterbacks that can't play.

Look at the list of the all-time total passing yards leaders in the NCAA's Division 1.

Case Keenum, Timmy Chang, Landry Jones, Graham Harold,

Ty Detmer, Kellen Moore, Baker Mayfield, Luke Falk, Colt Brennan,

Rakeem Cato, Mason Rudolph, Sean Manion,

Brett Ripon, Philip Rivers, Corey Robinson, Colt McCoy,

Aaron Murray, Kevin Kolb, Dan LeFever, Cooper Rush, Brandon Doherty, Derek

Carr, Tim Ratae, J.T. Barrett, Ryan Lidley, I could go on and on and on and on.

The last number that you want to look at, it's total passing yards.

But at least we have advanced efficiency metrics that do move the needle that have predictive qualities like
