The I used to be weather agnostic not anymore not anymore and why why have I been

dismissive of the weatherman fantasy analyst well we're not Weatherman and this is something we talk

about on the show a lot de-emphasizing the factors beyond the players themselves

the sheet code for cancelling out the noise so I naturally applied that to the weather. I can't measure precisely how weather in quotes will impact player performance so disregard it. The problem is evidence that weather impacts player performance continues to mount.

And as I've seen it mount, I've continued to be dismissive. Why? Outliers. Remember that Lions?

Stafford versus Nick Foles 3420. The Eagles beat the lions and nearly a foot of

snow fell during the game. So I thought if

NFL teams could score 54 points in a snow game the snowiest of the snow games we've

seen then fantasy analysts are likely overwaiting the weather

factor in their projections but now after yet another week where the game with the

worst conditions ended up being the lowest scoring game

i'm forced to reassess over the years a significant number of games has accumulated

right snow, rain accumulation. Showing NFL teams

scoring less points in the worst of the wintery conditions. And so I started by

looking back at this Eagles Lions game and I had

misremembered the game. I thought there was a lot of passing yards in this game. There was not.

In this 3420, lost to the eagles. Matthew Stafford was 10 for 25

for 151 yards, Nick Foles, 11 for 22, 179 yards. So both quarterbacks achieved a completion percentage of 50% at most, neither

crested 200 yards passing, one total touchdown pass was thrown in the game. So where did all the

scoring come from? Well, Leshon McCoy, that's where 29 carries 217 yards and

two touchdowns. I mean, the ignominious Riley Cooper converted just three of his 10 targets for 74 yards
