Welcome back to the Mind Mel Dear Wander Dippers.

Apparently we have intercepted a new introductory emanation and I have to say, I dig it.

As I am sure you are aware, if you listen to this podcast, there has been

endless speculation that there is some kind of raising of consciousness occurring. I mean,

we've got access to more information than ever and exponentially greater capacity for collective

creative potential than ever. There's a psychedelic Renaissance blooming and so much more.

Yet there's also a pretty strong case to be made that we are careening toward

just the opposite that we are approaching idiocracy. There's been a kind of slow death

of our collective ability to think critically, a dumbing down, a clear inability to parse

information effectively and deal with uncertainty in general. And as a consequence,

you've probably noticed many are deferring to easy to understand narratives or bypassing or

scapegoating or conspiracy theories. And personally, I see a stack of evidence for both.

I wouldn't bet on either horse because I truly don't know what's going on. I don't know where

we're headed. I have no concrete beliefs on that or anything else really. No beliefs,

but plenty of suspicions as Robert Anton Wilson once rift. But anyway, I bring this up because

if we hold that kind of uncertain tension in general, as seekers, as human beings with curious,

wonder-dipping dispositions, we can use that uncertainty about where we're headed.

In a way we might not have anticipated, we can use it as fuel. As a continuous invitation to dig

deeper and deeper into our wonder until suddenly we look back on our progress and think,

this is quite a curiosity hole. I've got going here. I don't know where I'm going,

but I do know as I go, it just keeps getting richer and more complex and more interconnected.
