Third eye drops are intended for open-minded adults.

Now administering the third eye drops. Welcome back to the Mind Meld, my friends. So lovely to have you back in the soup. You can't have a lonely soup. A lonely soup. You can't have a lonely soup. A lonely soup is that's just broth. I mean I like broth, but.

One of my favorite words that I've heard in in quite some time is

0:47.0

Paradegma. It is a Greek word that I understand translates to pattern. It's often used as a sort of story device

0:56.7

but that's not the most interesting context for it. That requires a little bit of riffing. The context I'm interested in as you might

1:07.5

expect is pretty meta. It hinges on the idea that we all come into the world with our own purposeful pattern attached to us.

1:17.6

And I don't necessarily mean this in the conventional new-agee destiny way. I mean it in the sort of James Hillman Acorn Theory way and that is just

1:40.8

that will become some sparkling stately oak tree.

1:45.9

Maybe it's not even likely.

1:47.8

Massive participation is required to even approach that.

1:51.8

Sinceer soul searching and effort is demanded of us if we want to even make progress. But it is there and we can grow toward that light.

2:03.8

And Hillman gets this from Plato,

2:06.6

a part at the end of the Republic called

2:09.4

The Myth of Er, which I've also rifed on several times where Plato calls this potential that we have

2:16.8

a paradagma.

2:18.2

So that's the form of it that interests me.

2:21.0

It captures so much in a single word. Plus it sounds really cool.

2:28.1

And on that note, I have no doubt that this podcast for me is a significant part of that paradigm.

2:37.0

I owe so much to it and to all of you and definitely to the guest on this one.

2:43.0

As well, Corey Allen, he's become a close friend.
