Honestly though, I do think that I forgive this hypothetical guy.

I'm gonna assume it's a guy. I mean, I think that's safe.

And I'll tell you why I would forgive him because we live in an insane world in an insane time where it's normal on some parts of the planet

to just smash 69 bats into a box next to a couple dozen pangolins. We live in a world where we're

culturing numerous highly dangerous viruses to try to weaponize them.

We live in a world where it is incentivized to be a wet market stall operator to a point where whomever was in that position thought to themselves,

this is probably the best I can do. This is probably my best option. It's all crazy. It's all gross and I want to believe that we can do

Considerably better than this

But how we do better, it's of course a very multifaceted issue. We've definitely got to change our priorities, we've

to change how we think about the planet, about people, about animals.

And I eat meat by the way, but clearly we have gone so far in the wrong direction and I mean I could

definitely conjure up a nice bloody handful of gross examples of how far we've gone wrong, but I will spare you the theater of the mind
