And I know that fate is an incredibly loaded word, sounds really cliche, sounds antithetical to action, sounds like we have no agency, but when I say fate

I don't mean to imply that we've got no free will whatsoever, But you have to admit there is definitely a stream of

impossibly complex phenomena both inner and outer influencing us at every turn that amounts to some level of

determinism. Maybe it's collectively nothing more than dumb, inert physics and biology.

Maybe there's a level of teleology there.

I don't know.

But what I do know is that resisting whatever that flow is ain't gonna do you much good.

But going with it, getting to know it, paying attention to the way things tend to go?

I think that's smart. I think that's constructive.

We can gain insight into how we tend to react with this disposition. We can gain insight into when we tend to succeed and fail.
