It's hard to imagine someone readily admitting to the fact that they're not.

Like you'd almost have to have no balls whatsoever to say,

no, I'm not really a free thinker I I totally just get caught up in the current

of societal pressure and that determines my thoughts

But to actually be one, you've got to be pretty daring because standing for

something is scary. It does require courage because it is possible that you'll face ridicule.

It is possible that people won't like what you're standing for.

And no one wants to subject themselves to that. for and that's not even all I mean it's even more possible it's actually

it's even more possible it's actually highly probable that whatever you're putting out there or standing for will sort of land with a wet plop, a total thud in that.

That is what is truly, truly terrifying. The idea that you'll actually put time and thought into something, you'll really shape an idea and then no one will

even look twice at it or give a shit and I think that's what stops a lot of people the fear that they'll just be

unremarkable isn't that isn't that a pervasive little demon, the one that whispers defeatism in our ear and prevents us from ever getting started.

I think that's absolutely rampant. And on top of of that I really think to be a free thinker you have to

have an original idea and that in and of itself is quite a feat these days because a everything's been thought of but also because

it's just far easier to repackage something that already exists and to align yourself with some

pre-established thing because there's community there, there's protection there,

someone blazed a trail for you, so it's infinitely more challenging to just have nothing

more than a glimmer of an idea and really chase that down vigorously, see it through, defend it, stand by it.

So I think even though the vast majority of people would say their free thinkers.

I call bullshit. I call bullshit in the vast majority of cases for those reasons.
