And in a world that's as complicated and diverse as ours, that's not going to work.

In fact, it's a pretty fucked up way to go about your life.

So I'd like to posit this.

We should make a point of regularly interfacing with the notion that we are not our ideological affiliations or patterns, no matter how long we've had them.

No matter how long we've thought that way,

our ideas aren't sacred.

I mean, ideas at large are kind of sacred, I would argue, and quite mysterious,
