The By the late 2000s the horror genre had gone to some dark and grueling places in America,

hostile in the UK Eden Lake Lake, in Australia, Wolf Creek.

All of these movies were pushing audiences to their very limit

in terms of how much violence, blood and gore they could take. But in 2008, nothing could have prepared audiences

for what they were about to bear witness to.

the soul as it was the body and as a result it was a far more effective movie than

any of its contemporaries, and it remains to this day,
