When did we start naming winter storms?

It was about five, six years ago.

Oh, really?

That's a thing?

I remember it specifically because, you know, they obviously, there's a naming system for hurricanes that we're all familiar with.

And then they started naming other winter storms. I'm going to say just because it's fun. Oh, okay. Just try to have fun with the weather. Try to have fun with the weather. So that you can say, do you remember where you were when winter storm fern hit? That's what this one is called fern. Fern is interesting. And not fern with an F.

You're not saying Vern with a V. No, I'm not saying Vern. Like the, uh, I'm saying fern like a plant. You know what I mean, Vern? Yeah, no, not like that at all. So fern like the plant. That to me, that's like a warm weather name. Yeah, Fern does sound a little tropical. Actually, that's a better name for a hurricane.
