brought to you by Punch Bowl News. It's Friday, November 8th, 2024. Let's get into the mix. Here are your Washington headlines of the day. Number one, Republicans could be saddled with

another small majority in the House. Number two, Trump looms over the Senate GOP leadership race.

With a look at how control of the House is still up in the air. But if Republicans do hold on to power,

and it seems like they will, Speaker Mike Johnson, will again be forced to govern with a paper thin majority. Most top Republicans and

Democrats say the GOP will end up between 218 and 21 House seats, Jake. It is even possible that

they end up with the 218 seats on the nose. Wowser, making it a very tough job for Speaker Mike Johnson, especially

with an aggressive Trump agenda trying to get taxes done in 100 days. That means you can't

lose anybody. Yeah, you know, I was, when I was listening to Mike Johnson, this campaign season,

I went back through my notes and through my recordings. He said many times,

you know, and I, I, I, I remember this very, very vividly. He said, you know, don't worry.

Next time we're going to have a bigger majority. It won't be as hard. And it's not a bigger majority.

It's going to be on the nose. I mean, whether that's 218, 219, 220, this is going to be another Congress

where Mike Johnson is going to have to hustle and grind for votes. That's not only Mike Johnson,

but that's also Tom Emmer and Guy Reschenthaler, the chief deputy whip. Now, I'm not suggesting
