And we go back decades.

And I want to start right back when the Marlins were winning the World Series in 2003 to the year before.

When I tried personally to acquire you, it was the key to what I thought would be us competing to win a

world series. We had a trade worked out to get you from Colorado and you said no thank you.

Something along those lines. I remember it vividly. And I think I'm pretty sure my words were

you got a great young team, but I got to go with a guarantee and the Braves are about as

as close as a guarantee to win a pennant. I want to remind people what that means. When you get a

no trade clause, which is what Mike

Hampton had when he signed his deal with the Rockies, and the question was, we were doing a very
