history podcaster and soon to be first-time author named Mike Duncan.

Four years later, he is a New York Times best-selling author of The Storm Before The Storm.

He hosts one of the longest running and most excellent history podcasts in the world,

Revolutions, and he is in the process of releasing his second book, Hero of Two Worlds, the

Marquis de Lafayette in the Age of Revolution.

Why write a book about the Marquis de Lafayette?

I think the genesis for wanting to write a book about Lafayette comes directly out of doing

the Revolutions podcast and where I was in the Revolutions podcast when it became time to

think up like what am I going to do for book number two because as he said, I was here

four years ago for my first book, Storm Before The Storm, which sold well enough that they

let me write a second one and when they came around to ask me what do you want to write

about, I was at this point in the show where this guy Lafayette had shown up in the Revolutions

podcast in so many different places and in so many different time periods and really
