The Skins gave Darnel Savage a requested release from the team. He was inactive with Will Harris back last week. on with a contender. But Washington has given him his requested release today. Tomorrow,

no, not tomorrow, Saturday night in the ACC championship game, Virginia, who was picked preseason to finish 14th in the ACC out of 18 teams.

They ended up being the regular season champion with a 7-1 overall record, 10 and 2 overall.

They'll face in the ACC championship game on Saturday night, Duke.

The team out of the teams that were tied for second that the ACC did not want to see

win those tiebreakers to face Virginia. Virginia beat Duke a few weeks ago, handily in Durham, 34 to 17.

But UVA under Tony Elliott, given what they were predicted to be,

they had not had a winning season heading into this year under Tony Elliott,

and they finished first in the ACC, and they've got a chance with a win

to be one of the 12 teams in the college football playoff.

I've kind of followed Virginia's season from afar. At what point during this season,

Mike, did you think, you know, this isn't just, you know, a team that's winning games. It might

actually be a good football team. Yeah, it's funny to say this because they ended up not being

any good anyway.

But the night they beat Florida State in double overtime, I think there were some things you saw offensively that felt really legit.

Like look, they put up 700 yards of total offense, a school record against William and Mary.

But nobody knew what to make of it, right?
