In this podcast, we'll meet British Airways, an iconic British

company. Chances are you've seen their livery, their colours on planes at all the big British

airports, and maybe you've travelled on one yourself. What do you know about them? Let's find out

more. British Airways, often called BA, is the biggest airline in the UK and one of the most

famous in the world. It flies to over 180 places in about 80 different countries, so it's great

for holidays and adventures all over the globe. Its main base is at London Heathrow Airport, which is one of the

busiest airports in the world. Check this out.

A fun fact from the past, British Airport was the first airline to serve meals on a flight.

That was all the way back in 1927. They've also had some very famous aircraft like Concord,

which was so fast. It could fly faster than the speed of sound and cross the

Atlantic in under three and a half hours. British Airways has flown more Boeing 747 Jumbo

Jets than any other airline and their pilot call sign at Speedbird has been around for over 50 years.

And over the years, British Airways has won

lots of awards for its excellent service. Whether you're going on a big adventure or visiting

family, British Airways is named many people trust to get them there safely and comfortably.

But to start us off in these podcasts, we're really drilling down into the detail.
