0:24.7	Handling around 7,000 aircraft flights each day.
0:29.4	That's aircraft taking off and landing at UK airports,
0:32.8	as well as planes flying through our airspace, say from Europe, over to America. In this podcast, we'll meet
0:40.1	the Civil Aviation Authority. They're the UK's specialist aviation regulator, responsible to make
0:46.8	sure flying is safe for everyone. They're like the safety police for airplanes, airports, and pilots.
0:53.1	As well as regulating the economic aspects of aviation,
0:57.2	they're also involved in shaping the future of flight by supporting the development and
1:02.5	integration of new aviation technologies, including electric and autonomous aircraft, drones,
1:08.3	as well as future aviation fuels too, particularly hydrogen as part of
1:13.0	its commitment to environmental sustainability and the UK government's jet zero strategy.
1:23.1	To start us off, here's Amy Aviation, to give us an insight into the sustainability of aviation,
1:30.1	from the materials used to make planes to the fuels that power the engines,
1:34.3	as well as what you can do with an old plane when it's not flying anymore.
