This is the baseball tonight podcast for Friday, April 8, 2022.

And today will be better than yesterday, although yesterday was pretty dang good because

it was opening day for a lot of teams in the majors.

Onbuster only sort of working a baggage claim Friday. I just got off a plane in New York

after being part of the ESPN radio broadcast, the Reds and Braves last night with Roxy

Bernstein, Sarah Abbott's working from the Heartland and Nebraska Taylor Shwink is

working from his home studio in the foothills of Connecticut and Taylor today.

We got baseball sounds, real games.

The seasons come up so fast on me, I think it's come up fast on everyone, but I'm putting

the rundown together and I'm like, oh my gosh, I gotta go look for some gamers, I gotta

go dig up some sound. It was a, it was a whole new world that we're entering into.

I'm very excited.

It was fun. Everybody yesterday was watching the debut of Bobby Whit Jr. considered to be

the best young prospect in baseball playing his first game for the Kansas City Royals.

It was one all bottom of the eighth inning. The crowd in Kansas City was going nuts

chaining his name and this is what happened.

Did you hear that crowd? Oh my God, that was like October crowd Taylor.

They love him in Kansas City. He's already big time. Amazing.

He's already big time. Denny Matthews with that call there. The Royals win an opening

day. Diamondbacks, Padre, Seth Bear came up in the night, Denny and his first big league

game.
