What are some of the big headlines to have on your radar and what are some ways to think a little bit differently about these headlines? So we feel good for staying current instead of feeling

depleted, which is often how I, even as a journalist who loves the news, and it's part of my

passion and my job, can feel at the end of trying to stay updated on all the many different news

What are some big stories that we should have? Some of which we cover, by the way, on this broadcast, but sometimes there's other things that we just want to make sure that you have at your fingertips. So in this vast volume of information that's out there, we condense and say, hey, there's a lot out here, but here's a couple interesting articles to read on a topic like a major health innovation or something going on that's marking a historical date. So let's just jump into the news today. I want to take you to, again, some of the headlines that you're going to hear, but let's give it a little bit of a smarter take. So as we sit at this time of this recording, we still don't know if there's going to be talks between America and Iran. Those talks were scheduled to take place sometime over the next 24 hours as we're

up against the deadline of the ceasefire, the conclusion of the ceasefire. That is an interesting,

by the way, date that we're getting, sometimes you see it published as Tuesday. Sometimes you see

it published as Wednesday. As the end of the ceasefire, I think that probably has something to do

with some of the time differences that we're continuing to navigate with this news. Remember, Iran is nine

and a half hours in front of us. So from where I'm sitting here central time. So that's part of

some of the challenge of even getting news in an accurate way of saying, when did this happen

stateside and when is that happening in Iran? It can be taking place on different days. So just a heads up on that. The talks were supposed to take place

in Pakistan. And part of the reason why, according to the reporting that we've seen on this,

that they've fallen apart is continuing disagreements over the terms of the ceasefire and the way

ahead between the United States and Iran. Also now we have some escalation in the waterways of the Strait of Hormuz

where now we have the American military confronting an Iranian vessel and taking that vessel

into our custody after telling it that it needed to stop because the naval blockade.

Interesting fact about that is central command, which is the command that's overseeing this operation,

and the information that they put out on this event said that for six hours,

they actually tried to stop and halt this vessel, but unsuccessfully,

to the point that then they had to fire on the vessel,

specifically targeting the engine room where it's going to, what's going to propel this vessel
