Middle school girls in Colorado are being told that their transgender simply if they're

uncomfortable in their bodies.

Leaders of a middle school gay, straight alliance club brought in a speaker who told six

graders that, quote,

"'If they're not completely comfortable in their bodies, that means they're transgender."

While two families have sued the school district for promoting the harmful ideas.

Far from being a remedy to a teenager's discomfort in their body, these ideas worsen the discomfort,

including the most irreversible harms and significantly increase chances of suicide,

especially for girls.

With unrealistic beauty standards and objectification everywhere, it's no wonder girls feel unsettled

in their bodies that doesn't mean they're born in the wrong body, rather than push controversial

and dangerous ideas that harm them, parents, doctors, and educators should work to address

the more immediate causes of body image problems like social media and pop culture.
