Thanks so much for being here. Let's do this. The ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran is on especially

shaky ground now in the wake of several attacks. The U.S. military says Iran fired on American

ships that were guiding vessels in the Strait of Hormuz yesterday. So the U.S. took out

six Iranian military boats and shot down missiles and drones.

The United Arab Emirates also says it was attacked by Iran, specifically that a drone attack

caused a fire in the largest oil storage area in the UAE, and two people were hurt in an attack

in Oman.

These kinds of assaults have not been happening since the ceasefire was reached nearly a month ago.

At this point, it's not clear if this means the war has actually restarted, but things are further complicated by the fact that negotiations between the U.S. and Iran have now stalled, and Iran has insisted on using its control over the Strait of Hormuz as leverage. It's demanding things like war reparations, while the U.S. is demanding strict limits on Iran's nuclear program.

Now, the Trump administration says it's undeterred by yesterday's attacks, and it's reaching out to hundreds more vessels in the Persian Gulf to help them get through the strait.

Though at this point, there are still concerns about the safety of moving through the waterway, and oil prices rose again yesterday.

rodent droppings in urine. It actually does not transfer easily between humans, but people

who get it can develop dangerous

respiratory symptoms. In fact, that's what the wife of famous actor Gene Hackman died of last year.
