I'm Lou Dobbs with a great America show midday update for October 25th.

The vote for a new speaker of the house underway this afternoon, and if he wins a majority

of the votes, 217 of them, Congressman Mike Johnson will be elected speaker of the house,

the third most powerful position in the chain of succession in the U.S. government.

That position vacants since October 3rd when Kevin McCarthy was removed from the post.

If elected, Mike Johnson's four terms in office will make him the most inexperienced

speaker since 1883.

Joe Biden's favorability rating has fallen further to a four-year low, only 37% with

favorable views of the president.

The Biden White House and Pentagon are ignoring 13 attacks against our troops in the past

week by terrorist groups sponsored by Iran.

Those attacks by rockets and drones at bases in Syria and Iraq, 24 of our troops wounded,

U.S. Central Command calls their wounds minor, and all of them have returned to duty.

A surprising jump in new home sales which rose 19% last month despite the highest mortgage

interest rates in more than 23 years, and September's sales the highest number of homes sold

since February of last year.

And median prices for new homes sold now $418,000.
