Hello everybody, I'm John Fawcett with this Great America Show Midday Update for Tuesday, March 31st.

0:05.1

Happy Tuesday, folks.

0:06.8

President Trump starting his Tuesday firing off some, what do they call them, mean tweets,

0:13.3

suggesting that he will withdraw troops from the Middle East and force Europe, Asia, and the Gulf Nations

0:19.0

to deal with Iran's blockade on the Strait of

0:21.4

Harmus after they refused his calls for help. President Trump previously asked NATO and Asia

0:27.1

for help securing the strait, but of course they're refusing. The USA won't be there to help you

0:32.2

anymore, just like you weren't there for us, President Trump said in a statement, offering to

0:36.3

supply oil from the United States if the countries cannot, quote, build up some delayed courage to go to the straight

0:42.2

and just take it. He added that Iran has been essentially decimated, the hard part is done,

0:47.7

go and get your own oil. Now, this comes, Amit reporting that President Trump is ready to end the war

0:52.4

regardless of security in the waterway. The Wall Street General reported that Trump told AIDS, he may flat out end the war with

0:59.1

Iran without reopening the Strait of Hormuz as his timeline for the war of four to six weeks

1:03.8

approaches its end. His plan would then be to leave it to Europe and the Gulf states who are heavily

1:09.3

dependent on the flow of oil through the

1:10.8

strait, unlike the U.S., to go ahead and deal with it on their own. Pete Hankseth gave some

1:16.5

comments today and said, after President Trump's wise words, more ships flowed through the

1:21.7

strait today. Take a listen. On the Strait of Hormuz, there are many more vessels flowing through

1:27.3

today than there were, as the president has arranged. The president's been clear to Iran, open it for business, or we have options, and we certainly do. And when you look at what the chairman laid out with the Navy, with the Navy industrial base, with coastal cruise missiles, with UAVs, with countermine capabilities, we've been focused from the beginning on a treading and defeating those capabilities and limiting their options. There's lots we're doing as well, some of which is known, some of which is not known, to set the conditions. And I think the president was clear this morning in his truth, that there are countries around the world who ought be prepared to step up on this critical

2:03.4

waterway as well. It's not just the United States Navy. Last time I checked, there was supposed

2:07.7

to be a big, bad Royal Navy that could be prepared to do things like that as well. So he's pointing

2:12.4

out, this is an international waterway that we use less than most, in fact, dramatically less
