Hello everybody. I'm John Fawcett with this Great America show Midday Update for Thursday, January 30th.

Some sad news to report out of the nation's capital today. 67 confirmed dead after that mid-air

collision last night between that American airline, CRJ 700, and that Army Black Hawk helicopter.

Recovery mission is underway. Just over 30 bodies have been pulled

so far from that frigid water. An internal preliminary FAA investigation report on Wednesday night's

air disaster shows that Reagan National has been understaffed for many years with just 19 fully

certified controllers as a September 2023. This is well below the

target of the 30 that are supposed to be there. This is a truly tragic incident and we pray for the

families of those three helicopter pilots and the 64 who have deceased on that American Airlines

flight from Wichita, Kansas. Just a few miles down the road,

Cash Patel was in a Senate confirmation hearing. He was having a little bit of fun, I guess we can

say, not letting the Marxist Dems try to come after his character. Take a listen to Cash Patel

going after the Marxist Dems, in particular, Amy Klobuchar. If the best attacks on me are going to be false accusations and grotesque mischaracterizations,

the only thing this body is doing is defeating the credibility of the men and women at the FBI.

I stood with them here in this country.

In every theater of war we have, I was on the ground in service of this nation.

And any accusations leveled

against me that I would somehow put political bias before the Constitution are grotesquely

unfair. And I will have you reminded that I have been endorsed by over 300,000 law

enforcement officers to become the next director of the FBI. Let's ask them.
