This is Lou Dives with the Great America Show midday update for Tuesday, December 12th.

Special Counsel Jack Smith has asked the Supreme Court to rule on whether President

Donald Trump is immune from federal prosecution for alleged crimes committed while he was president.

In what appears to be an effort to speed the case along, Smith went directly to the Supreme Court for a ruling on the issue, rather than go to the

appellate court for a ruling that would bear on the special counsel's four-count indictment

of President Trump.

And it looks like an effort to get a ruling that would keep the

trial date at March 4th, which is the day before the Super Tuesday primaries. That is not a

coincidence, folks, and it is without question Smith's plan to interfere in the presidential election.

Jack Smith, it seems to me, is without question, obsessive and unconscionable.

Harvard has decided that President Claudine Gay,

despite all of her controversies,

will remain as President of Harvard,

with the quote, support of the board end quote

despite our anti-Semitic answers in a congressional hearing that has cost Harvard

its reputation and reportedly a billion dollars in donations.

Gay is also accused of plagiarizing her doctoral thesis,

ousting a law school professor for representing Harvey Weinstein, and she's also accused of infringing on free speech. Speaker Mike Johnson is at it again as well.

He withdrew two bills intended to reform section 702 of the FISA Surveillance Act.

Today he withdrew those bills and the effect is to reauthorize FISA without any reform by including a short-term extension of FISA within

the National Defense Authorization Act.
