Hello everybody. I'm John Foster with this Great America show. Midday update for Thursday, April 30th.

Happy Thursday, folks. The weekend is almost here. Just moments ago, the House of Representatives

voted to pass the Senate approved package to fund the Department of Homeland Security by voice

vote, ending the 75-day shutdown. Ice and Border Patrol will be funded separately. The bill is now heading to President

Trump's desk. This is a move, folks, in the right direction. Senate Republicans have unveiled

and adopted the budget blueprint last week. Republicans are trying to meet President Trump's

June deadline to fund immigration, customs enforcement, and border patrol, and end the funding

lapse that has shut down

the Department of Homeland Security since February. The resolution cleared the House 215 to 211 vote.

It directs the committees that oversee ICE and Border Patrol to draft legislation to deliver

about $70 billion to agencies. Adoption of the budget plan simply allows lawmakers to begin

their work-crafting

legislation to fund these agencies, which both chambers will need to later approve. The House voted

on the Senate approved packages, and so we wait for the Marxist Dems to begin to fund our essential

government needs. Turn it now to an update on the battle for Iran, President Trump in a press conference,

saying that we have the Strait of Hormuz completely, folks, completely foolproof,

and that nothing is coming by.
