Microsoft's long-awaited deal to buy Activision Blizzard seems to have all but

cleared its final regulatory hurdle. With the UK's competition and markets authority

saying today that Microsoft's proposals to modify its $75 billion takeover of the gaming company

addressed competition concerns. General reporter Kim McCrayl has been covering the deal since

it was announced 18 months ago and began facing regulatory challenges around the world.

And she told us that the British announcement opens the door to the deal finally going through.

This has been a long-running saga for Microsoft where they're trying to get approval for the

deal to buy Activision Blizzard. They got a rejection from the UK regulator earlier this year.

They came back, they changed the structure of the deal and another attempt to get it approved.

And the news we've got today is that on a preliminary basis, the UK regulator is saying
