To be a father is more than just to have a child.

No, it also requires that you put someone else before yourself at all times and do everything

you can do to help them become the best person they possibly can.

It's a full-time role and one that lasts for a lifetime.

Sadly, though, it's not one that all fathers are fit to fill.

hurts them with his irresponsible attitude, and what happens when that attitude directly

leads to the death of six of his offspring?

That of a man who, with his unconventional lifestyle choices, was always going to be

a figure of derision for some.

But while for most people living an unconventional life doesn't necessarily hurt anyone around

them, when you add a whole host of personality disorders into the mix, it created a lethal

cocktail in this case.

Michael Philpott, who went by Mick, was born December of 1956 into a work in class family

in Derbyshire, England.

During his earliest years, he seemed to be a normal kid and all outside appearances.

One who, by the time his late teens came around, was training to serve in the army.

At some point, it became apparent there was a far darker side to the youngster layered

on top of that.
