aide who was with Trump on January 6th, but we know about today's events before the

Good evening, I'm Alicia Menendez in for Stephanie Rule.

We begin in Washington, D.C., where the grand jury assembled by special counsel,

Jack Smith, for yet another witness testified today about former President Donald Trump's role

in efforts to overturn the 2020 election and interfere in the peaceful transfer of power.

Remember, Trump has already received a target letter from Smith raising the possibility of

a third indictment, which could come at any time. This afternoon, former federal prosecutor Andrew

Weissman shared his thoughts about Jack Smith's strategy.

That's where my money is. I think that if Jack Smith is going to bring a charge like this,

which I think he is definitely going to do, that he is going to charge everything. He will have

taken the lesson from the work that Tim and his extraordinary colleagues did on the January

6th Committee and clearly is fleshing that out with the advantages of the grand jury process.

But I think he's going to charge big because I think it will encompass what it is that he believes

that Donald Trump did, and he's going to want to make sure that the indictment reflects that
