Welcome back to another episode of the Adam Schaefter podcast.

As the year winds down, we are joined today by two men who have quite a bit in common,

more than you might think.

Aidan Hutchinson, the outstanding young defensive end from

the University of Michigan, who figures to be potentially the number one overall pick in the

draft in April coming off an outstanding season at the University of Michigan. And he will join

us to talk about what has been and what is ahead.

And then we'll be joined by a man who basically walked down the path that Aidan Hutchinson

did only in Columbus, Ohio. Nick Bosa, the outstanding young defensive end for the San Francisco

49ers who wound up being the second overall pick in 2019 and something

of a role model for Aiden Hutchinson himself. Both of those two young defensive ends will

join us and they are excellent conversations, I believe. Now, Ayn Hutchinson has a real chance to go

number one because this is a draft that does

not have an obvious top 10 quarterback pick. Quarterbacks have gone number one overall in six of

the past seven drafts, but this might be the first time since 2013 that we don't even see a quarterback going the top 10 picks.

Last time that happened was 2013 when E.J. Manuel was the first quarterback taken at number

16 overall. And Aiden Hutchinson is going to be a top pick. He's either going to go number one,

two, three, right there, maybe number one. And Detroit would make a lot of sense for a guy like

Aiden Hutchinson. This is a team right now that's in the bottom five and yards allowed for play,

points allowed per game, sacks. They haven't generated a lot of

pressure. And yes, the Lions need a quarterback. But there isn't an obvious quarterback to draft this

year. So that points to a guy like Aiden Hutchinson. And who is the Lions head coach? Dan Campbell.
