Hello, welcome to the Wolverine podcast here on Monday, February 16th.

We have some travel stuff amongst the staff members here.

So we decided to come at you a little earlier.

A big day, historic day, as Michigan basketball voted the number one team in the country for the first time since the 2013 season today.

We will talk about that.

Dusty May held a press conference this morning to kick off a week that is one of the bigger weeks I can remember, except, you know, compare it to a couple weeks ago.

But to Mackey Arena tomorrow night, take on number seven, Purdue,

and then Washington, D.C. Saturday for a number one versus number three showdown with the Duke Blue Devils.

So, uh, fellas, an incredibly exciting week, uh, between the three of us.

We will have both games on the road this week covered for the Wolverine.

I'm heading to Mackey tomorrow.

You guys will head to D.C. this weekend.

So historic season now gets that historic designation.

And no one's going to remember if you're number one on February 16th,

if you don't continue to make it a special season. But that's where they are right now. And what a week it will be and what a season it has been. Yeah, lose two games. And maybe you're number two or three after it, win two games and you solidify yourself. And you're really in the driver's seat, as they already are in the driver's seat in the big 10 big 10 race but man you're going to have a hard time losing it if you beat Purdue on the road so

it's exciting guys and Dusty May continues to impress unbelievable what he's accomplished here in

a year and a half and change and like you said number one anthony at this point in the year isn't a big deal.

You want to be number one on that Monday night in April when you're cutting down the nets.

And it's going to be tough. There are still some good teams out there. And there are no guarantees,

especially in a one and done tournament. But who would you rather be at this point, right?

I think Michigan is probably the odds on favorite. Clay could probably tell us that if Michigan is the odds on favorite to win it all. I wouldn't think. You wouldn't think they are the odds on favorite to win at all? Odds on, meaning that there's over 50 percent. I would not. Well, I mean, they are the prohibit. They are the favorite to win the national championship. I would imagine. If you guys talk, I'll pull that right now. Yeah. So, and hey, where would you rather be? So we got some great basketball coming up. Got the Big Ten tournament. We're just a few weeks from March Madness. And guys, I can't wait. This reminds me the B-line years.
