Summary

Episode 5: Michelle Martinko

In December 1979, 18 year old Michelle Martinko spent the evening doing some shopping at Westdale Mall in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She never came home. Her body was found in her car, riddled with stab wounds. Her family had a suspect in mind, but he had an alibi, and the case went cold. 39 years to the day after her murder, detectives arrested the man who killed Michelle. Even though he had worn gloves and had not sexually assaulted Michelle, he had left some of his DNA behind. This is one of the first cases in which a guilty verdict was handed down to a suspect who was identified using forensic genealogy

It's a lot of downloads, and I was hoping that you'd make it 400 million and one.

I heard it with Mike Rowe is not like the other podcast. And if you are, in fact, the 401 millionth download, I can't say with any

0:41.2

certainty precisely what you'll hear. All I know for sure is that only one person will be

0:46.9

responsible for 401 million downloads of the way I heard it with Mike Roe. And on behalf of everyone

0:52.5

at the way I heard it with Mike Roe, especially behalf of everyone at the way I heard it with Mike Roe,

especially me, Mike Roe,

I sure hope that person is you.
