There's no sense of which Paul wants to take election and hide it in the closet and not talk about it.

I've seen churches that hold to election but never want to talk about it.

They believe election, but it's like a secret doctrine that you only get told after you've joined the church and been a member for five years.

And finally we let you in on the secret.

Doctrine election is a biblical doctrine.

And if it's a biblical doctrine, it's a good doctrine. And if it's a biblical doctrine, it's a good doctrine. The fact that it exists in Romans like this is a reassurance that it's not something that is negative and problematic. Now,

that doesn't mean it's easy. It's not. And it doesn't mean there aren't residual challenges and understanding it. Of course there are. But I think it's something to be embraced.
