Thank you for having me. It's great to be here. How do you describe your podcast to people?

Well, the traditional distinction is that we cover politics and culture, but I think increasingly

that distinction is a little bit blurry, certainly after the presidency of Donald Trump.

But that distinction is quite blurry. So we cover that angle, but Russell Kirk had an

important observation, which is that culture is downstream of religion. We often hear of

Andrew Breitbart, the patron saint of Hollywood conservatives, who says that politics is downstream

of culture. Culture is downstream of religion. These questions are not so easily separated.

Cardinal Manning famously said that all human conflict is ultimately theological. And

so we like to go everywhere from the headline all the way down to the philosophical and theological
