And this is Kevin McCarthy.

Are we going to get away from these swamp creatures, these long, long-time bureaucrats,

the backroom dealers?

He just doesn't impress me at all.

Well, I'm not quite that concerned about him.

I think that the agreements that he made, if they can get passed by the Republicans,

we'll put him somewhat in a straight jacket and

he'll have to he'll have to follow the uh the wishes that i think the problem is not

mccarthy per se i think it's that the republicans in the house are so disunited and there's so much bad blood now that I think the whole thing,

even if you credit that some of the so-called reforms were a good idea, and I think some of them were,

the question of whether the entire caucus will abide by them and enforce them.

I mean, it's things like the budget, for example, you know, the budget committees would have to do it in a way that all the members could amend it and get to, there would be by a regular order

as Congress used to work. It's all broken down. Now, everything gets shoved into a couple of big

enormous bills called these omnibuses that there's no time to read it. You can't amend it. It's a yes

or no vote. And if you vote no, you're ostracized. So if they can change that, that will be

really good and important. But the problem still is in the Senate, which is happy to go by those big

bills.

So there's a lot of work to be done.
