Well this is a little bit of old news at this point, but I think it merits discussion

because it is a story of our age, you know, the sort of thing that happens in our time.

I licked my finger and put it up in the wind and I felt the winds shifting and I felt

a breeze that said that this is this is a story that it's some way embodies the moment.

So last week off, Mike, we discussed that Robert De Niro was allegedly going to play Travis

Bickle in an advertising campaign for Uber, which is is so funny, Uber, we are the people.

I mean, Robert De Niro, a man who is made, you know, his share of bad movies, I think it's

fair to say over the last 20 years or so, this seed like a particular, a particular bridge

too far.

I showed you this on my phone and you said, did I not predict that they're you said you said

to me, you said the world is such now that thanks to social media, this will be noticed.

People will be upset about this and within a few days, well, here's an article in variety

a representative for Robert De Niro has denied reports that the Oscar winner has reprised

his role as Travis Bickle from Taxi Driver for an Uber ad campaign.

Several published reports in recent days asserted that De Niro was revisiting the seminal

character from Martin Scorsese's 1976 drama, a role that cemented his status as one of

the great actors of his era, reports of the plan for the commercial prompted taxi driver

screenwriter Paul Schrader to slam the idea in a Facebook post.

Why Bob would do this is beyond my reckoning Schrader wrote on September 20th, but I haven't

seen it.
