Summary

It was a rainy first few days of Miami but things have picked up since then and a couple of big shocks - defeats for Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz - have left Catherine, David and Matt with plenty to discuss.

Part one - WTA (00:00 - 43:51) We start with Swiatek’s defeat to Magda Linette as she opened up about the tennis “nightmare” she’s experiencing on court. What’s going wrong for her? And where does this leave her heading into the clay? Elsewhere there’s chat about Talia Gibson’s brilliant run, a return to form for Zheng Qinwen, a breakthrough win for Hailey Baptiste against Elina Svitolina, and a Last 16 line up filled with compelling matches.

Part two - ATP (43:52 - 1:13:57) We cover Seb Korda’s wild win over Alcaraz which saw him choke in the second set but then regain his composure to win in three. Can Korda back up this win and take advantage of a wide-open top half of the draw? Arthur Fils might have something to say about that after he destroyed Stefanos Tsitsipas. There’s also chat about some of the young players impressing in Miami and some unexpected aggro between Corentin Moutet and Danielle Collins.

Part three - News (1:38:58 - 1:32:21) Wimbledon’s expansion plans clear a big hurdle and video review technology is coming.

public.

0:43.2

It was actually David who alerted me of the beef between Mute and Collins.

0:49.7

Yeah, it's the tennis version of Chapel Rhone Georgineo, I feel like, a sort of unexpected duo beefing.

0:59.8

I'll fill you in on that later, David.

1:01.4

With a Jude Law camea.

1:02.8

Who's the Jude Law in this scenario?

1:06.0

Well, she's surely been me, shouldn't it?

1:11.6

David, bringer of tea. How are you doing?

1:15.0

Yeah, I'm fine. I mean, I delivered it, but I am not responsible for understanding its contents.

1:21.6

So I am going to have to have it explained to me.

1:24.5

In fact, I'm not sure I want it to explain to me because it looked all pretty

1:28.5

pathetic, so I'm not sure I'll really enjoy it. Yeah, we do love explaining pathetic things,

1:35.8

though. So that is all to come later in the show. Let's start today, kind of where we left off from last week showing me. Look,

1:47.0

on the women's side of things, we have a really exciting round four lineup. The women have

1:52.0

had the good grace to all be at the same stage of the competition, which I really do appreciate.

1:58.5

The men are still staggered. Some are at the fourth round stage.

2:01.6

Summer at the third round stage.

2:03.1
