But I want to start with a quote that really popped.

We've heard from Jeff Halfley each of the last two days, which has been great.

The dolphins yesterday afternoon, they signed 10 of their rookies.

They signed Jalen Tolbert, continued to turn the wide receiver room.

They're getting the formalization of getting their rookies sign.

But Jeff Hathley was asked this morning about Tyrell Dotson and his mentality amidst bringing in a few linebackers.

And I like what Jeff Hathley had to say.

So I'm going to share it with all of you.

And we're going to talk about it.

And that's where we're going to start here on today's episode of the show. Jeff Hathley, I want our team to be built on competition year after year. We're going to bring in players that compete with the guys that are here. I would hope that every player has the mindset that every year I need to compete for my job and get better.

I think if you don't, you're kind of going to just plateau. I think that's the mindset of coaches. I think that's the mindset of players. I think you've got to be pushed. But Tyrol Dodson's been great. And I would hope he would remain that way. Our job is to play the best players to give us the best chance to win, whether that's a guy that's been here as a starter, whether that's a guy that was drafted, whether that's a free agent that we just brought in. I'm not just going to play guys because of where they were drafted or what they've done. I'm going to play guys that have done the most right now that give us the best chance to win.

It takes me back to the John Eric Sullivan quote about this place in their vision for what they want Miami Dolphins organization to be.

Not for everyone, right?

And there's a certain reality that comes with when you pay players, right?
